Under the COBRA act, each of the following is a qualifying event if it results in loss of coverage by a qualified beneficiary:
__ Death of covered employee
__ Termination for any reason except gross misconduct (including quitting, retiring, or being fired for anything another than gross misconduct)
__ Reduction of your work hours so you (or your dependent) are not eligible for coverage
__ If you (or your covered spouse) get a divorce or legally separated
__ If your spouse or your children becomes eligible for Medicare
__ Your child is no longer your dependent under your plan
