WHAT IS GROUP LONG TERM CARE COVERAGE?

Generally, group policies are comparable to the individual policies, yet there are differences as follows:

• Cost of group Long Term Care is mostly slightly less than the cost of individual policies due to the administrative services (i.e. payroll deductions) performed by the employer.
• Eligibility for Group Long Term Care coverage generally requires that an employee be full time and active at work.
• Some group policies maybe available to the eligible retirees and their eligible family members.
• Typically, Group Long Term Care plans offer fewer choices of benefit amounts, inflation protection, benefit duration, and the elimination period.
• Coverage maybe continued if participant leaves employment on a direct payment basis.
